About The Mesquite-Toes Tap Team

The Mesquite-Toes Tap Team was founded in December, 2003 by Vicki Eckman, who is still the creative director and choreographer for the team. The team has grown over the years and now has 50 performers on 3 tap teams, 1 jazz team and 2 newly formed clogging teams. The Mesquite-Toes make several appearances in Mesquite during the year. They do an annual Christmas Benefit and support many local charitable functions by performing. They culminate their local season with a 4 performance Dance Spectacular featuring dancers from all 5 of the teams. The team also performs throughout Southern Nevada, Utah and California. A New York City tour in December of 2010 was a definite highlight for the team. They have also performed on the Royal Caribbean and Holland American Cruise Lines, where they draw "standing room only" crowds.

Our Description & Mission Statement

The Mesquite-Toes Tap Team is a senior dance team that uses practice and performance to promote the health and teamwork of the membership. The Mesquite-Toes Tap Team is an inclusive group and welcomes anyone to join. Through performances and shows, the team emphasizes that one can be active at any age. Seniors are inspired to "be all that they can be."

The Mesquite-Toes Tap Team is a non-profit performing senior dance team, which promotes the physical and mental health of its members and offers benefit performances for the community at large. The Mesquite-Toes Tap Team serves as the official "Goodwill Ambassadors of the Magic of Mesquite" by also performing outside the community.
